When the disaster struck, I was thousands of miles away. I could do nothing but gaze out in your direction. Yet you, you never gave up, waiting in a world of darkness.

Finally the sunshine penetrated the cracks of the rubble, brightening your pale complexion. What can I do for you, after living each day in sheer heartache? Yet you, you blinked your shining eyes, saying: I have been waiting, because I was sure you would come.

My dear friends, facing your trusting eyes, what else can I do, after shedding tears for so long?

In a split second, your mother was gone, your father perished, your siblings were injured, and your home was lost... Yet you, you had faith that we were coming.

Yes, the rescuers have come, but I, I am not among them.

What is left for us to do, is to contribute our support to the quake victims, no matter how small it may be!

The Merciless Earthquake VS Selfless Love

14:28 Beijing Time, May 12^th, 2008, Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, between 3100' north latitude and 10340' east longitude, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake took place, delivering destruction equal to the impact of 400 of the A-bombs that were dropped over Hiroshima.

In a blink of an eye,
The picturesque mountain-city, a heaven on earth,
Was reduced to rumble.

What we saw on TV,
Were lives, breathing air a moment ago,
Now
Gone, gone with the quake
School-children's readings,
Have been turned
Into the sound of silence
My picturesque mountain-city in the clouds,
Is filled with
Crying
Wailing...
I can see,
On anxious and worried faces,
Eyes that hold on to survival
With help from you and me.

We, thousands of miles away, were unable to protect children from the collapsing roof, as their dear teachers did with their flesh and bones, nor could we fight against the crushing concrete debris, as the soldiers did with their fingers, arms and shoulders. We could not go near you to search the quivering signs of life under the rubble, nor could we bring hope of life to the survivors in Wenchuan, as the nurses, angels in white, did by curing disease, despair, starvation, and panic!

We, Jiangsu Sunyu Translation Co., Ltd., an enterprise equipped with a strong sense of social responsibility, responded right after the quake struck by donating RMB100,000 yuan plus money donated by individual employees via the Red Cross (Nanjing). We are doing what we can to save lives and rebuild ruined homes.

50 yuan, 100 yuan, 200 yuan, banknotes of different denominations have been collected with heart-felt emotion attached to them.

Every little bit counts, and tiny bricks can build a towering edifice.

Up to May 23^rd, the total donations from Sunyu had reached RMB 22,150 yuan, which have been transferred to Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Youth League to be used in the quake-relief efforts.

The mountains are crying, The rivers are sobbing. Between the heaven above and the earth below, We can see tears on mourning faces. May Heaven bless our land, May Happiness return to Wenchuan The five stars on the national flag, Shall remove the sorrow from the towns and cities.

May the deceased rest in peace! May the survivors get back on their feet!

The deceased are long gone, yet time does not stop for the rest of us. The passage of time may alleviate pain and sorrow, and may heal our wounds, yet the loving hearts will never change! More care and strength need to be gathered for a shared goal: with unity we will have the strength for the process of delivering quake relief and rebuilding damaged homes.

We shall step out of grief and be strong again. Hand in hand, heart to heart, our mourning for the deceased shall be turned into deep love when we act for the living.
