On November 16th, 2009, the "Intellectual Nanjing" Summit was held at the Yangtze River Hall of the Jinling Riverside Convention Center in Nanjing. The summit attracted a great number of scholars, leaders and entrepreneurs from around China and the world. Jie Shan, Vice General Manager of Sunyu, was invited to attend the summit.
"The theme of 'Intellectual Nanjing' is to build an innovative city, a condition for advanced urban modernization. It is really about pooling wisdom from all quarters to push forward urban modernization," said Hong Yinxing, secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University. According to him, creating an "intelligent system" to help the municipal administration and emergency management to more rapidly respond to problems such as public health emergencies, traffic problems and environmental pollution is an integral part of this modernization process. Xu Kangning, Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University, agreed with Hong's point and added that we should also establish such systems for transportation, telecommunication, health care, e-government and many other functions in order to bring real convenience to the people of Nanjing.
During the summit, two Nobel Prize winners in Economics, Robert A. Mundell and James A. Mirrlees, provided their suggestions on the construction of Nanjing from a global perspective, such as focusing on the development of intellectual industry, pushing forward the construction of an intellectual city and building high-tech clusters.
In response to this initiative, Sunyu, as a leading intellectual enterprise concentrating on intellectual property-related services, will continue optimizing its internal management, operational procedures and service model to further promote innovation and improve service quality. |
